Atlanta, GA – This weekend the national executive committee of Outright Libertarians voted unanimously to formally endorse Libertarian Party Candidate Carla Howell for United States Senator from Massachusetts in the 2000 election.

“Carla Howell stands for the things that are most important to those of us who love differently and love freedom:  the freedom to marry as you choose; the freedom to take on the responsibility of parenthood through adoption; and the freedom from oppressive taxation that, among other things, reduces the amounts we could give to our favorite causes and charities.” – Allan Wallace, National Chairman of Outright Libertarians.

The Outright Libertarians National Executive Committee held a business meeting this weekend to plan organization activities, plan next year’s national convention, and consider endorsements for political campaigns nationwide from Outright members.

"When I saw how Big Government programs, regulations, mandates and funding are crippling Health Care in America, I looked for remedies. Health care's cure is Individual Liberty and Personal Responsibility. I found the cure in the Libertarian Party."  -- Carla Howell

Carla Howell is running her “Small Government Is Beautiful” campaign against Mr. Big Government himself, Democrat incumbent Ted Kennedy.  In 1998 she won 102,198 votes in her bid for Massachusetts State Auditor. She was endorsed by the Boston Herald who described her as a "serious, savvy, and well qualified candidate . . . well worth a vote". Currently a management and strategy consultant, Carla Howell worked in the private sector for twenty-four years. Ms. Howell has held various engineering and marketing management positions in high technology and health care.  Ms. Howell received her MBA from Babson College in Massachusetts in 1986 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Math/Computer Science.

“Government should have no say in the relationships of consenting adults. All adults should be treated equally under the law. As a politician, it's not my job to condone nor condemn any particular lifestyle. That is not a proper role of government nor its representatives. Individuals should be free to choose their own moral values and their own moral leadership.” – Carla Howell from her survey answers at http://www.pinkpistols.org. The Pink Pistols organization is targeted at protecting the firearm rights of the “alternative sexuality” communities.  Ms. Howell scored 100% (A+) on their candidate survey.
